Hartford County 4H Camp 2004

SIDEBAR
Oh man

Guys, I had an awesome time at camp this year. Thanks to all of you.

It's over?

Saturday, 4:17 PM

That finishes it up for entries I wrote at camp. We've got like 11 kilobytes of text up there, I wrote way more than I thought. I was on the way home from camp, and I already missed it like you wouldn't believe. I want to go back. School is on its way, and I'm so not ready for it. Camp was so awesome. Julianna won camp spirit (I voted for her) and Mike and Aaron won Counselor of the Week (I voted Mike). Two of my kids got the 4H awards, Lyle and Dustin. Counselor meeting last night was so awesome and I am going to miss everyone and everything wicked bad.

What I said about inside jokes making poor entertainment mail before is false. Amy sent me a letter making me propose to Rachel, say three reasons why I wanted to marry her, and then kiss her on the cheek. Two inside jokes (because I dared her to propose to a male counselor of her choosing last week) and it was still funny for everybody. That's how you do it.

But of course camp is about making friends, and I came out of this session with plenty more than I went in with. I've been talking with Becky since I got back, and she's into computers and photography too. Will also is into them, but seems pretty inept with the technical sides of computers. I had a blast with all the counselors and campers and staff and everyone. I'm wicked glad Dutton was the in charge guy, because he just comes off as nicer than Sirois. The one night Sirois led counselor meeting he kicked us out for talking loud. Dutton is easier to talk to and is easier to relate to. He was in my cabin my only year as a camper, he just exemplifies camp for me. I got my buddy tag and my candle, and they're with my other two buddy tags and candles in my room. I have Sam's buddy tag too, I don't know what to do with it. I feel like I've grown so much emotionally at camp. Ahhh I really want to go back.

I love camp. I want to do two weeks next year. I'll have to sign up for an earlier week so I can (hopefully) get called back. I wish that real life was like camp too. There's too much stress and drama and anger in real life. 4H Camp is away from all of that, you can just be yourself and meet other people like you. I can't wait to get back.

In church I was practically falling asleep during the Homilee because I am so sleep deprived from camp. Going to bed late and waking up at seven isn't a good way to stay in mental shape. I need a ton of sleep tonite.
