Rules

While Major Distraction doesn’t have that many rules, the few that we do are very important. If you don’t adhere to these few simple rules, we may suspend you from the program for two days.

  1. Paper and Envelope Specifications
    1. All letters must be written on ISO 216 size A4 paper. "Letter" and "Legal" size paper is not allowed.
    2. If neccessary, two pieces of ISO 216 size A5 paper may be taped together, but only if the tape if 3M brand Scotch Tape
    3. Envelopes must be white or manilla and contain the return address in the top left corner. Envelopes that fail to do so may be returned to sender unopened.
  2. Letter Content
    1. All letters must be the author’s original work and previously unpublished.
    2. Contents of letters becomes the property of Major Distraction upon mailing.
    3. No animals may be harmed, for scientific purposes or otherwise, in the writing of all letters
    4. Monopoly money will not be accepted as bribes. Or Canadian money either. They’re just too colorful.
  3. Mailing Protocol
    1. All letters must be handwritten. Typed letters and electronic forms of communication are unacceptable. Mailing a voice recording on optical media is a toss up.
    2. Do not photocopy lined paper so the lines are diagonal on the paper. That’s just mean.
    3. Invisible ink is hard to read.
  4. The Most Important Rule
    1. Only rules 3.1 and 2.3 and 4.1 count.
