Principles of Electronics is an introductory mechatronics course at the Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering. The primary objective of the course is to work in small groups to build some microcontroller powered contraption with nontrivial electrical and mechanical systems. In constructing our camera pan-tilt system, Team SAGE found the following resources useful:

  • Microchip - Microchip produces the microcontrollers, MPLAB Programming IDE, MCC18 compiler, and PIC KIT 2 programmers that were used as the "brains" of our project.
  • Sparkfun Electronics - Sparkfun sells all sorts of prototyping electronic components for hobbyists. We utilized their SerLCD Serial LCD unit.
  • Google - This project would not have been possible without Google.
