Several of the teachers at my high school have a vintage base ball team and play in old-style games with other teams in their league. However, no 19th century base ball team is complete without a 21st century website.
The team wanted a way to share photos and information with other teams and to coordinate their activities online. A schedule, driving directions, a team roster with biographies, and a copy of the vintage rules are all available for visitors to the site to read.
In creating this page, I wanted to try to create an old fashioned feel web page without going too overboard. A graphically intense web page would have created a more authentic feel, but I wanted to keep a high level of useability as well. Most of the page content is text, and the bandwidth required for the images is rather low. The page is an efficient way to learn more about the team, and is not distracting with complicated visual themes.
